Attorney Angel Myers McIlrath’s announcement that the grand jury returned a no true bill, meaning no one will be indicted in connection with Nolan Wells’ passing.
For anyone who felt saddened, disappointed or believed this investigation was over, trust me, by the end of this video you may feel very differently. I am invigorated. I am excited. And like I told you guys this morning, this case is NOT over. It’s only getting started.
Ben Crump and his team made it clear they are not backing down. They challenged DA Angel Myers McIlrath’s handling of this case and announced that another press conference is coming, where they say results from Nolan’s phone and its metadata will be revealed, with information they described as extremely surprising.
The family’s team also discussed findings from the second independent autopsy, including trauma to the back of Nolan’s head that they say occurred hours before his passing.
Ben Crump directly accused DA Angel Myers McIlrath of lying and also addressed the Sea Tow call. Attorneys with the NAACP joined the press conference and pledged to continue standing with Nolan’s family, arguing that the DA’s job is not done.
Christine Wells-Wonsley also revealed something deeply disturbing. She says she received a text from DA Angel Myers McIlrath yesterday informing her that the grand jury had reached a decision, but the message did NOT tell her what that decision was. Christine says she ultimately learned about the no true bill on Facebook along with everyone else.
Regardless of what side you’re on, Nolan’s mother should not have had to learn that information from social media.
This case is NOT over.
